Why “Ever Wondering”?

If I had to describe myself, it would be to say that I am “ever curious, ever wondering.” I love nothing more than to learn something new or to explore a place or idea. Wondering also means to be amazed by the divine or the sublime. I especially like to engage in wondering when accompanied by others who are also curious about the world around us. Join me in ever wondering.

Who is Carol Lea Clark?

I’m a recovering (i.e. former) university professor and writer with a Ph.D. in rhetoric and composition. I’ve published some 50 magazine articles and 10 books, but writing personal essays is new to me. I’m wondering what I can do with the essay form. I’m encouraged that one of my essays, “Dangerous Heat, Getting Personal,: was just chosen (Oct. 2022) to be featured in Ten Spurs, a publication of the Mayborn Literary Nonfiction Conference.

What can you expect?

I post twice a week: On Tuesdays, you will receive a newsletter on a particular topic, such as “Edward Abbey’s Desert Solitaire: Keeping Wilderness Ever Liminal” or “Dangerous Heat, Getting Personal.” And on Fridays, a special “What I’m Reading Right Now” that presents an article that is especially “ever wondering.”
